Brandy Centolanza graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in English in 2000. She began her career in journalism as a crime reporter for The Progress in Clearfield, PA. Brandy later won multiple Virginia Press Association awards for her work as a crime and education reporter for the Virginia Gazette, the oldest continuously printed newspaper in the U.S. Now a freelance journalist, Brandy writes about parenting and family travel, health, business, and community issues for several publications in Williamsburg, Hampton Roads, Richmond, and Fredricksburg, VA and beyond. She especially enjoys writing food and drink business profiles as well as community profiles of ordinary people with extraordinary talents, jobs, or lifestyles.
